Communicating with buyers is important, and our automatic buyer conversations feature makes the first message as easy as possible. All paid Pro resources have an option to automatically send a private message to your buyers’ inbox which can be enabled through the Engagement tab when editing your resource:
Typing {{user}}
anywhere in the message or title fields will be replaced by the buyer’s username, which is handy to easily personalise the message that you send to your customers.
Some ideas for what you can include in your automatic buyer conversations are:
- Thank them for buying your product! It’s super simple, but saying thanks for buying your product will go a long way towards providing a quality support experience
- Link to your wiki or knowledge base so that buyers know where to find additional information they may need about installation or how to use your product to its fullest
- Encourage buyers to join your Discord server. Having an engaged community is a great selling point for your product and is usually the best way to provide support. Learn more about creating a Discord server as a creator here: Creating a Buyer Discord Server
- Explain other ways that the buyer can receive support such as if you have a live chat or would like them to send you a conversation onsite
- Provide instructions for how to obtain a license key if you have DRM for your products. This is useful for plugins that have a third-party licensing systems
- Promote other products you own that would complement the purchase the buyer just made, such as any specific addons, bundles, or resources which are compatible
